Nestled in a charming rural setting, this retreat-style accommodation is a true gem. The highlight of my stay was the Bird Rescue and Rehoming service. It felt like living in a real-life version of Snow White's enchanted forest. I witnessed the delicate simplicity and elegance of the artist's work firsthand, as Santie Cronje's captivating paintings adorned the walls. It was like stepping into a fairytale.
Summer nights were a bit warm without any screens on the windows. A minor inconvenience that could easily be resolved with a ceiling fan or air conditioning.

Our one-night stay at Huntington Stables Retreat was absolutely wonderful. Robyn's warm welcome and helpfulness made us feel right at home. The loft was incredibly clean and comfortable, with every detail thoughtfully attended to. The balcony offered a stunning view of the surrounding hills and valleys. We enjoyed a refreshing swim in the pool and indulged in the spa, although it was a bit too hot for our liking. Andy's recommendations for our onward journey were invaluable. Highly recommend staying at this gorgeous place.
Recommend this hotel.

Nestled in peaceful countryside, this accommodation is still conveniently close to the river and town, making it the perfect retreat. the rooms are lovely and clean, with comfy beds and amazing showers. the owners go above and beyond, providing homemade breakfast cereals and other special touches. You'll love the relaxed atmosphere and proximity to Hobbiton and Waitomo Caves.
The mattress springs might be uncomfortable for some guests.

We recently stayed at Huntington Stables Retreat and had a fantastic experience. Upon arrival, our hostess greeted us warmly and showed us all the amenities. the room was charming and had everything we needed, including a lovely shower and an insect screen to keep the mosquitoes away. We appreciated the little extra details, like the vase of white roses and the beautiful box of colored pencils with a sharpener. the room was extremely clean and well-presented, and we loved the native bird duvet. the breakfast selection was great, and we enjoyed eating outside on the covered patio with a view of the countryside. it was a wonderful stay and excellent value for money.
Absolutely nothing to say about dislikes. 😊.

Great location with stunning views of the countryside. The continental breakfast was fine, but the best part was the fully equipped kitchenette with microwave. WiFi was also available and worked well in all areas of the room.
The Loft room we stayed in was quite small and cramped. The bed was uncomfortable, and we had difficulty sleeping.

The luxurious amenities here fulfilled my every need, with a beautiful pool, sauna, sun terrace and BBQ facilities, all set in a picturesque garden area. Our room was well appointed, with exclusive in-room breakfast and a picnic area for outdoor dining. We were thrilled with the location, which offered both privacy and stunning views.
A slightly abrupt welcome, with a lengthy list of dos and don'ts that left us feeling a little uneasy.

We recently went on a romantic escape and stayed at a beautiful homestay. the room was clean and well-heated, there was a private bathroom, microwave and refrigerator. the breakfast provided was yummy and flavorful. the landlord was very nice and provided us with detailed information regarding travel and tourist information. We enjoyed how environmentally conscious the host was, and they made sure to dispose of discarded towels and other items in a responsible manner. it was a great experience and we would consider going back for another romantic getaway.
the only thing we could comment on is that the bed was a little soft and the pillows were a bit too soft for our liking.
